Mixed and declining. Older devices teardown well (original Kindle Fire = 8/10, Fire 5th-gen tablet = 7/10, Kindle Paperwhite 3rd-gen = 8/10), but recent e-readers fell sharply: Kindle 11th-gen = 3/10 and Kindle Paperwhite 11th-gen = 2/10. iFixit explicitly notes 'no official replacement parts or repair instructions are available' for current Kindles, and Amazon sells no parts and publishes no service manuals, so the repair ecosystem is community/aftermarket only. Few hardware parts-pairing locks (batteries are replaceable), but the OS/bootloader is locked and OEM repair support is essentially absent.
