Why this exists
Not long ago, when something broke, you took it to someone who knew how to fix it. That's become strangely hard. Devices are glued shut, parts are locked to serial numbers, and the repair shop down the street is being squeezed out by companies that would rather sell you a new one.
A repair is an act of trust. You hand a stranger something that holds your photos, your messages, your work, and you hope they're good at what they do and honest about what they did. Most of them are. But there's no way to know, and honest work that can't be seen loses to loud marketing every time.
We want the honest work to be visible. That's the whole idea.
What we believe
A few simple things.
Things worth owning are worth fixing.
The people who fix them deserve to be found, trusted, and paid fairly.
What was done to a device should stay with the device, plainly written, for whoever owns it next.
Nobody should have to guess. Not the person choosing a shop, and not the shop doing good work in the dark.
How we go about it
Fix more. Waste less. Connect everyone.
Repair first, replace last. Fixing what you own costs less than buying new, and it keeps good devices out of the landfill. When something truly can't be saved, we make sure it's recycled right, not tossed in a bin.
A hub for the whole trade. Not just a way to find a shop. The people who fix, the people who supply, the people who teach, and the people who need help all need something from each other. We help them find it.
We come from the bench. Thirty-plus years of repair work, from every side of it. We know what a shop actually needs, what a customer actually worries about, and where the industry lets both of them down.

The shop down the street that does careful work and gets outranked by whoever bought the most ads. The tech at the bench who learned the hard way and has nothing official to show for it. Where we stand
Repair is a right.
Repair is being designed out of things. Glued batteries, locked parts, manuals that were never published. We think that's wrong, and we say so.
We're not a manufacturer, and we're not neutral. We side with the people who fix, and with every law that protects your right to open the thing you own.
