Earbuds & wearables · Last assessed 6/9/2026
Score breakdown
Why this grade
Split brand: the Pixel Watch 4 scored 9/10 — 'the most repairable smartwatch on the market' — with Google offering OFFICIAL repair parts and instructions and gasket-based (not adhesive) water resistance; this is the only official OEM parts/manual program among any brand graded here and is exactly what RTR rewards. But Pixel Buds remain poor: Pixel Buds Pro 2/10 (earbuds epoxied), A-Series 3/10 (soldered batteries), Pixel Buds 2a 4/10 (glued buds despite a repairable case), and the 1st-gen Pixel Watch was only 4/10. The strong watch program offsets the weak earbuds to a D.
Methodology & version
Five dimensions — parts availability, schematic access, repairability, OEM pricing, and software freedom — are scored 0–100 and weighted equally; the letter grade is the average (A 90–100, B 80–89, C 70–79, D 60–69, F below 60). This assessment is current as of 6/9/2026 and cites its sources below. It covers the Earbuds & wearables category and is not a claim about every device the maker ships.
