Score breakdown

Parts Availability 35
Schematic Access 25
Repairability 35
OEM Pricing 35
Software Freedom 60

Why this grade

Razer is not assessed by PIRG (which covers the 8 most popular US brands) and has no model on iFixit's curated laptop score list. iFixit hosts community repair guides but no official repairability score. Razer Blade laptops are widely documented as difficult to service (thin chassis, soldered RAM on many models, glued/long-life battery, limited first-party parts and no published schematics). Graded conservatively F on thin, mostly negative evidence.

Methodology & version

Five dimensions — parts availability, schematic access, repairability, OEM pricing, and software freedom — are scored 0–100 and weighted equally; the letter grade is the average (A 90–100, B 80–89, C 70–79, D 60–69, F below 60). This assessment is current as of 6/9/2026 and cites its sources below. It covers the Laptops category and is not a claim about every device the maker ships.
