Motor Vehicle Right to Repair (Vehicle Data Access)

Summary

Voter-approved automotive right-to-repair initiative. Requires vehicles sold in Maine to have a standardized, owner-authorized on-board diagnostics platform and requires manufacturers to give owners and independent shops the same diagnostic and repair access — software, tools, and information — provided to authorized dealers. An independent oversight board administers the access platform.
