Why it matters
A device can show a normal image while a damaged digitizer causes missed or false touches.
Technical detail
A touch digitizer uses a sensor grid and controller to measure contact position and gestures, often laminated to or integrated with the display.
Examples
- Ghost touches after a drop may point to a damaged digitizer.
