Why it matters
Smaller privileges reduce accidental damage and limit what an attacker can do after compromise.
Technical detail
Least privilege limits permissions, scope, duration, and reachable data to the minimum necessary for an authorized function.
Examples
- A content manager can review definitions but cannot change payment configuration.
